rick mansavage Is this the place to vote for it. I would love to have a sling channel added. Their 50 hour limitation would drive a bunch of customers over to playon.

David S. One of the official support personnel may wish to confirm, but PlayOn can only record videos that can play in Internet Explorer (e.g. IE11). Most sites allow watching videos from a web browser on a desktop computer, but Sling TV requires you to use their app.

Mathmajor On 08/19/2017, I created a support ticket with the following question:
"With the 08/15/2017 announcement from SlingTV that they are now compatible with Google Chrome, will this now make possible the recording of programs if I buy the SlingTV Orange package?
I realize that compatibility with Chrome would not affect the fact that you mostly interface with Internet Explorer, but I though it conceivable that the PlayOn browser add-on in Google Chrome might make recordings possible.Announcement link:

Brian Postma Look at the release notes for the last several updates and its all maintenance of the existing channels. looking at the release notes the last channel add was in Oct 2017 https://www.playon.tv/releasenotes

rick mansavage If the last new channel was added in 2017 I hope they are due!
The core to Playon is being able to control your media on your terms. All these cloud DVR's have space and time limitations. As more people cut the cord and move to these services Playon will grow if they can provide a solution to these limited DVRs.

SB ESPN allows you to sign in with your Sling TV credentials and then you can view/record in PlayOn. Unfortunately, other channels in Sling I've tried (e.g. TNT) do not include Sling TV in their lists of "TV providers."

David S. Sling TV can now be watched via Google Chrome on Windows (and Mac).
So a PlayOn channel may now be a possibility.

lynn Would really like to have a SlingTV channel for PlayOn. On the other hand, PlayOn has channels for both Spectrum and DirecTV NOW and neither of them work, so am not sure how much good a SlingTV channel would do, PlayOn seems to be dramatically understaffed for the amount of work it takes to keep it running and evolve it with new channels and features.

lynn I'd like to see Sling TV work too on PlayOn, but it appears that PlayOn is only doing easy patches to keep a little revenue coming in. It does not appear to me that they are doing any new development work.Maybe someone can show me that I'm wrong ... (I hope).

David S. They seem to be concentrating their development work on PlayOn Cloud.
If you want this kind of recording capability, you might want to try out DirecTV Now or maybe Hulu Live.

Jim Robertson @Brian - I was worried because they have the last release note is January 2018 - but I think that they just have forgotten the year changed :) - unless they released 24282 almost a year before 24125 - lol

Rick Blinson Since PlayOn has been looking into this for over 2 years now, is there an update on adding SlingTV?
