Aspect ratio changed when streaming a mp4

If I play a mp4 movie via USB on my Sony Blue Ray the aspect ratio is "theater like"....there is a black stripe about 25% of the top and bottom of the screen.

When I play the same movie via PlayOn the aspect ratio is changed to "full screen"....and objects looked "pulled" / lengthened.

I tried transcoding on / off...

I can't find a setting in PlayOn that sets / changes the aspect ratio.

    A lot depends upon the device used to show the movie. You may have to change the settings on your television / monitor when you use PlayOn's playback capability. After changing the television's settings, adjust your Blu-ray player's aspect ration accordingly.
