Option to remove the personal info water mark from the head and tail of the video file (IP, Name, and E-mail)

I understand why there should be a warning, but it should be optional, opt-out. Some sort of unique/trackable server data could be added to the meta data of the file as an additional watermark. The personal information should remain private (IP, E-mail, and full Name).

It is a bit jarring at first, but I personally prefer NOT to have my personal info added to file metadata, just sayin

People still can edit the video and remove watermark is they want to share the video, why need to include the user detail on video.  Make an option to enable/disable the function please.

The reason I would like this removed from the beginning of the file is this: I use Plex to stream all my media. The Plex server automatically downloads subtitles when possible. These are superior to recording the subtitles as part of the stream because then they can be turned on and off as needed. However, the 4-5 second personal watermark at the beginning of the file throws off the downloaded subtitles by a corresponding amount. I don't mind the watermark in the file, but it should be at the end only, or even "overlayed" over the first few seconds of the file, instead of appended to the beginning.

Although people can edit it out I would like if they changed it, I am happy with it ending with my details as and even a short overlay at the beginning,

I too am using Plex to stream my media around the house for my family to use.

I just wish I could have it removed or better placed cause I don't like that subtitles are out of sync because of it.

Yeah, having to adjust the times for subtitles is a pain (even when you're using a great tool like SubtitleEdit). However, needing to do that gives me a push to running some tools to fix them up some. And sometimes videos buffer for a few seconds anyway, so subtitles are then out of sync already, so in those cases it doesn't make much of a difference.

Yeah after playing around with it for the past couple months I have to agree that it probably wouldn't be as useful as I though for subtitles. To really get subtitles to work you really need to manually sync them up.

I am currently looking at making a script using FFMpeg.

If I get that working I can upload the code, It will only cut the first few seconds and hide the fade out of the image cause it looks terrible, but will keep the last part as I don't care about that part.

I use VideoReDo Tv Suite v 5  to remove it. You can edit video without re-encoding so the quality will be the same as the original. I also use this for editing out commercials from my tivo shows that I download to my pc

@Alvin I just started using PlayOn again after several years of not using it, and now I recall why I stopped. Those intro and exit watermarks ruined my Plex integration of some shows. Any chance you actually created the FFMpeg script?

@MUElli Hi I will have to see if I can find it again, I had the basic cutting part done so that it matched up with normal movies for subtitles, but was trying to also cover the initial IP address screen with a fading block.

I ended up stopping, I will see if I still have the file somewhere.

The reason that info is there is to protect PlayOn legally.  And as a deterrent to users from sharing recorded content that is only for personal use.  If you are are not sharing this content, privacy should not be an issue.
