confused???

WHY ON EARTH WOULD I WANT TO "RECORD" SOMETHING THAT IS ON DEMAND??????   IF IT ON DEMAND THEN I CAN GET IT WHEN EVER I WANT, WHY OH WHY CAN THIS NOT RECORD A LIVE CHANNEL ON DIRECTV NOW?   HOW IN THE HELL CAN YOU CALL THIS A DVR, ITS AN ON-DEMAND COLLECTOR AT BEST, .......PRETTY USELESS.    NOT WHAT IS ADVERTISED

    Perhaps if you screamed less, you might think more clearly!  :-)

    You might want to record something that is "On Demand" because accessing that content then requires an internet connection.  This could use a lot of data (a concern for someone on a mobile phone, who pays based on data usage), or there might not be an internet connection available (For example at a cabin in a remote location, or on an aircraft.)

    Wow, then I get Mocked. Stop calling this thing a dvr it isn’t . Worthless for most people

    you can actually record a live channel..... you just have to manually start and stop the recording. A guide feature would assist in this, and allow scheduling. Hopefully (since playon has never made this a feature--would be great tho!) the directvnow dvr (and support from playon) will fix this oversite finally.
