Right now my channels view is a bunch of thumbnails of the different channel icons; if I click on a thumbnail I can see the list for that show.
However most people are probably coming to PlayOn from typical TV services after cutting the cord. So it would be a lot neater to see a view that's basically a list of channels (vertical axis) and times (horizontal axis) and the programs on at those times. Like a regular DVR view.

PlayOn is primarily for use with on demand video, not live video. Since it doesn't support scheduling specific recordings yet, such a grid view wouldn't be much use anyway.
The DirecTV grid view for the guide is easy to use and informative. It would be a good model. Similar grid view is used for recordings. List views should have the ability to be sorted by station/program or program/station or date/time.... basically whatever sequence the user wishes to see. User should be able to assign a "default" view that sticks until changed by the user.
