Subscription Delay

Add the ability to delay when to record a given Channel.  For example, ABC now locks their Full Episodes for approximately 5 days from the date it airs before you can record them without a selected cable provider.  Add the ability to record that (or any) channel for a given/selectable number of days and/or hours.

Playon needs to fix access to ABC so that the "Verify to Watch" authentication is handled by Playon.

While I'm glad to hear you're fixing that I don't see how that will handle the scenario as described by my original post.  Does this mean the "Verify to Watch" authentication will now have options to delay the attempt to record?  Please explain what is meant by "fix access".  Thank you!

ABC has implemented "Verify to Watch" on new episodes.  IN order to watch those episodes, one must be subscribed to a cable channel (like Xfinity) and login to ABC with their cable channel access.  I think after a week the verify to watch access is turned off when an episode is deemed to be old.

I'm suggesting that instead of having to wait for the "Verify to Watch" lock to expire on ABC episodes, Playon should fix signin access to ABC for those that have cable access.  Currently, Playon can't seem to login for those episodes.

I don't see how that fixes the problem since I don't have a cable provider.  It just moves the problem from ABC (or whichever channel is requiring the selection of a Cable Provider) to you.  You'll have to repeat your suggested solution with each and every channel and hope they all work the same.  Otherwise, the complexity of the code to fix multiplies exponentially.  Why not just add a configuration setting for the number of days to delay the recording of a given Subscription as I suggested?  That bypasses this whole "Verify to Watch" issue altogether since that check is only made within a certain time frame until that particular episode is no longer considered new.  That solution solves the problem regardless of the channel it's used for presuming they all abide by the same new vs old time out period (not necessarily the same duration).

For those without cable access to a channel, yours would surely be an alternative. For those with cable access, they shouldbe able to access the channel via their cable channel when the episode is available - once login is working to the cable channel.

Well that's precisely why I submitted the Post, because I don't have cable and have this problem!
