I have zero need to record a full, end-to-end stream of anything: What I want to do is grab 10 seconds of things, as (again, for example) something on Hulu.
If in fact PlayOn tools require me to download the whole thing, it's not worth it, even it it's free. All I need for me to hold up my iPhone and record video. I care zero about quality, the content will be seen by three people, and it will be deleted in two days.
Some years ago, a combination of a certain browser and a certain screen capture program could could do that but now I guess the DCMA figured it out and figured out a way to block it.
