Many movies have black bars above and on the sides of the video, maybe the playon software could automatically detect these bars when applicable and remove the bars.
Such a feature sort of exists in a very basic form when playcasting however it does not work very efficiently and its functionality is very poor and not user friendly. This manual cropping is subject to user error, whereas an automated cropping (probably) would not have that problem.
