Hi everyone. I’ve been having a persistent problem with the quality of my video downloads, and I’m hoping someone might know a solution. Tech support has been looking into this, but no success thus far.
The problem started while I was downloading a Netflix series. On May 8, everything was fine and my videos were of good quality. However, on May 9, as I continued my downloads of the series, all of the downloaded videos were markedly blurry and grainy. It’s been that way ever since. No changes were made to my software setup as far as I can tell.
Here are some other facts of note:
1) The downloaded file sizes have not changed
2) If I re-download a previous video that was once good, the new copy is blurry
3) It happens with all shows that I’ve tried, both on Netflix and Amazon
4) The choice of playback platform doesn’t seem to matter (I’ve tried my Samsung TV via Plex/Apple TV, and also VLC on OSX)
Any help would be greatly appreciated. This has been going on for months and I can’t seem to find the problem.
