Ad Skip does not appear to work when recording via Xfinity channel

I can record episodes directly from a network channel, like NBC, and will get Ad Skip ability during playback.

However, if I access the same episode via Xfinity channel to ABC network, Ad Skip does not work.

Any suggestions to get Ad Skip to work when recording via the Xfinity channel?
