I can currently visit https://tv.xfinity.com/recordings and access my 20hr cloud based DVR that came with my XFINITY stream only plan ($18 a month).
I would love to have the ability to record shows straight from the DVR, that way I don't have to wait for other channels like FOX ondemand to let me record the show, since the XFINITY DVR records from live tv. Seems like it would be a worthwhile service.
Since I cannot edit the post, it seems very note worthy to mention that they do not currently have any way to watch the DVR without streaming it from a mobile device, (casting from mobile), or from desktop. They do have a very buggy Roku app that works once in awhile, but 90% of the time it gives an error which I assume is because its designed to be used by those that have an actual channel package, not their streaming only plans.
Please note the streaming only plan does allow you to stream live tv.
I would have to second this. I would love a way to record straight from the DVR. I wouldn't even care if everything recorded to the same folder like with SyfyNow. Just having that convenience would be great.
Yes, it should be a easy to add feature to add access to the recordings folder, then just list the contents and allow to record or play option from the list presented. This feature should have been added a long time ago.
