Amazon your amazon user and password are correct, but additional validation is necessary

Hello,

I have opened a ticket on this, but haven't heard any resolution on this. Internet searches have provided some info on this problem, however, the solution was that Playon came out with a version update...well I have now upgraded twice, and getting this issue. When I try to browse Amazon Videos I get a message box "your amazon user and password are correct, but additional validation is necessary" and when I go to the website, there is no questions to answer. Any additional help would be appreciated.

Just ran into this issue for the first time.  Opened up a support ticket - Version 4.3.25.19251

I had the Amazon authentication issue a month ago and it went away.  Amazon Prime has been working perfectly....until today when the problem returned.

Same problem as others.  For awhile I could do an uninstall and then an install and it would work for awhile.  Now, Amazon Video doesn't work at all .... same message as others and no Amazon security question.  Running 4.3.25.19251 .   Ticket has been opened.

Update:  Had a video Play issue (vertical lines in stream) and installed older Playon release.  Can now Start/Stop Server and SOMETIMES access Amazon.

Everything was working fine as my last recording from Amazon was on July 17th and now the issue is back.

Happened to me on the last update. Driving me insane!

The video problem seems to be with the last update but I've tried 3 different releases (I save old releases) and have the same Amazon problem with all 3.

Today's release has (so far) fixed the Amazon issue.  However, the streaming video (Play) still has video problems (vertical lines).

I updated. Now I can access my Amazon account but all my recordings fail with "Unknown error."

Latest release 7/29 has fixed my video problem and Amazon Prime sign on problem.  No new issues.

This is driving me crazy. Same problem but error message 10.

You pay for a product and expect that product to work.

What must I do to access Amazon on Playon?

Hi Tony - Amazon is working fine for us when we test. A couple of questions.  Are you using a US Amazon account?  Are you on PlayOn Desktop or PlayOn Cloud?

Have you enabled 2 step authentication for your Amazon account?

Nice to receive an email form tech support saying they finally have reproduced the problem. Now it's a case of waiting for a fix.

I knew that with all of these complaints that there had to be an issue. I think the problem lays with the PlayOn server.

Hi Anthony - the specific issue our support tech was referring to was the Amazon error code 10 you're seeing...While we were eventually able to reproduce after repeat tests, we're not able to do so consistently.  The problem you're having is specific to Amazon.uk accounts (not all, but a handful). That's why we weren't able to reproduce initially.

It's associated with a change Amazon made to how authentication is handled.

Most folks are able to use the Amazon channel without issue.  That said, we are digging into it and thank you for the follow up.

I am not on an Amazon UK account, and I cannot authenticate Amazon using PlayOn Cloud on an iPhone 6s+, running iOS 11.0.3.

I am stuck in an endless loop of attempt to login, get prompted for the 2FA code, type the code in, wait quite some time, then get prompted for the 2FA code (again!). Lather, rinse, repeat.

I tried the trick of appending the 2FA code to the end of the password, and it seemed to accept it, however all that changed is that I received a dialog which stated "Further Info Needed" and re-directed me to the Amazon website to answer any security questions, if prompted. I was not prompted and this did no good whatsoever.

I'm stuck, PlayOn Support. What to do?

I was able to resolve by doing the following:

    1) Log into Amazon via your browser

    2) Set up 2 step authentication as described above

    3) Save and exit out of your Amazon account

    4) Log back into Amazon in your browser - you should get a text message (if that is your default device for authentication code)

    5) Log in with the code and select the option to remember this device

    6) Open PlayOn settings

    7) Enter your amazon username / password and click on test connection button - you should get a code

    8) Append your password with the code as described above - your credentials should be accepted

    9) Open browser, log into Amazon and turn off 2-factor authentication

    10) Go to PlayOn Settings - stop server

    11) Go to PlayOn Settings and enter your username and password (without the confirmation code. Normal username & password)

    12) Click on Apply

    13 ) Start PlayOn server

    14) Go to PlayOn Settings - test your amazon credentials - should be accepted

    15) Go to your Amazon Channel in PlayOn and it should now work

Hope this works for others and good luck!

Still no joy.  It always asks for "additional validation."  (Error: 502)

Nothing I try works.  It's really disappointing, since this is the reason I bought PlayOn in the first place!

I am also having the problem listed above by so many users. None of the "solutions" work for me either. I am in the US and this all started after Amazon started with 2 step verification. At this point I cannot use Playon for recording anything on Amazon Video. Please help Playon Support.

Wanted to update my problem. The process that Michael Luong described above just worked for me. The only thing that I had to do was update my version of Playon to the latest and greatest. When I had tried with my previous version, it would not send me a code in step 7. When I updated to version 4.3.73.20909, the steps described by Michael worked. I am back online with Amazon Video. Thanks Michael.

I've been having a different problem with Amazon for a while (maybe a month or two?).  Recordings start, but after about 2 minutes, they just stop with an error.  It doesn't matter how many times I try again.  It always fails then.  Netflix records fine.

I have the latest version and no 2 step verification.  I can play movies in the browser just fine (although I tried with Chrome instead of Edge).  Do I have to try with Edge?

Where would I access a log to see exactly what the error is?

I just logged in with Edge and tried to play a movie and I think I might have found my problem.  When I use Edge, before the movie starts, it plays a trailer for an Amazon series.  I don't think PlayOn is getting past that.

For some reason, that trailer doesn't play in Chrome.

I had the problem with Amazon videos aborting about 90 seconds in.  PlayOn support sent me a "visible.mmt" file to put in the "C:\Program Files (x86)\MediaMall" directory.  That let me see the what was going on and fix it.

They really need to make that a feature in Settings rather than requiring us to contact support.

If you want to skip support, here's a copy of the visible.mmt file and some other troubleshooting comments.

Same problem and in looking at this thread it's been almost a year and still no fix.  I just paid $70 for the program and I can't even use it.
