Amazon your amazon user and password are correct, but additional validation is necessary

Hello,

I have opened a ticket on this, but haven't heard any resolution on this. Internet searches have provided some info on this problem, however, the solution was that Playon came out with a version update...well I have now upgraded twice, and getting this issue. When I try to browse Amazon Videos I get a message box "your amazon user and password are correct, but additional validation is necessary" and when I go to the website, there is no questions to answer. Any additional help would be appreciated.

    I have had the problem in the past, and then there was an updated version of Playon. I have the latest and greatest and just recorded off of Amazon Video last night with no problems. It has been working for the last several months for me. I honestly do not know what fixed it.

    This feature has NEVER worked for me. 

    I've followed the instructions given many times, both those found in this forum and given to me by support personnel.  It simply doesn't work.  Ever.

    Buying PlayOn was a dumb mistake.

    Happy not-working-anniversary! 

    I thought "wow it's been a long time since I recorded the last movie on amazon" and yes, my mailbox says, that I have that problem since September 2017! 
    The only channels I (can) use are Amazon and Netflix and now I can't use one of them for years or maybe never again?

    Same issue here. I have a recording from 2016 from Amazon, so it worked once at least. Tried tonight, and got the 502 error, so came here looking for answers. I guess I shan't be getting one, no?

    Still not fixed. Even tried on a new machine with a clean image. Furthermore noticed the error message is incorrect as it will take any value for username and password and tell you it's correct. This is ridiculous that this issue has gone unresolved for so long.

    Same problem...what the hell did I pay for a lifetime license for something that doesn't work....and seemingly has been unable to make work for over a year now.  Maybe you should PULL the product from the market.

    I have been complaining for well over a year about the fact that Playon will not record Amazon which is the main reason I bought it in the first place.

    I have no wish to use some complicated cloud work around, I just want what I paid for. 

    To make matters worse, Playon would not let me log onto the comments page and I had to use Google plus as a means of access.

    It's about time Playon admitted this will never work and refund all of us our money. It's an absolute disgrace and they do not seem to care.

    Hi all - Amazon has been working well for most folks up until recently though only for those with US Amazon accounts.

    However, there was a recent series of changes made to the Amazon site which required a rebuild of the Amazon channel. This took the channel down for the last several weeks. We've released an update with the new channel included. It should work for everyone with a US Amazon account.

    This is of no use to anyone outside of the USA. Playon should have stated this as it affects many customers in Europe who have bought it with the prime function of recording Amazon UK or Amazon DE.

    Skip from PlayOn Support, still no dice for me. Downloaded the new software. It told be to recheck my credentials. I did, and I get the same error as posted by Cobnebbemawr on 11/19.

     I'm not getting anything in Playon settings about a code to enter in.  After clearing amazon 2 step, I tried check password in playon and it claimed that it was ok.  O that's great, when I went to amazon channel, it claimed that 502 again.  Pretty kludgy.

    Me too. Just got the amazon login error on a new install of Playon on a new computer. Also, none of my shows are able to record due to an "unknown" error" but they recorded fine a few weeks ago. Tried it on 3 different computers Please fix the amazon error. Very frustrating. Can't really be that hard, can it?

    Updating just to indicate that it is still an issue for me.  Submitted a support ticket today about it.

    Symptoms are similar to others, above.  Additionally, attempting to immediately Play the video (instead of just Record it) results in an error dialog, "Video Unavailable: We're experiencing a problem playing this video. For assistance, please go to www.amazon.com/dv/error/7031."  That URL states that the error is, "Resolve Issues with the Chrome Web Player".  (Upgraded to latest version of PlayOn Desktop and also tried relogging to Amazon Prime through the PlayOn integrated browser.  Error continues.)

    Playing all Amazon Prime Videos via my standalone Google Chrome Browser always works without issue.  Around the start of the new year (2019), videos recorded through PlayOn Desktop had a low but non-zero success rate when recording.  But now, as of 1/10/2019, all attempted playing and recording of Amazon Prime Videos through PlayOn Desktop fail with this error.

    We have been able to reproduce this issue (we're now seeing the same video player error mentioned by Jay).  We're investigating now and should have a fix in place soon.

    I have a brand new Windows 10 system.  Nothing installed yet.

    Installed PlayOn and had it register Netflix.  No Problem.

    Tried to register Amazon Prime but got the dreaded User Name and Password are correct but need additional verification.  Error code 502.

    The suggested fix to use the 2SV on amazon will not work for me because A)  No Smart Phone and B) Wife would not like to use my PC get a Code Number.

    Just for the hell of it, I tried to install PlayOn on the Windows 10 system that we are replacing (giving it to my Son) and it went on there without the Verification step.  So it IS possible.

    Please Help.  One of the main reasons of purchasing PlayOn is so that we can watch the Amazon Videos when we are out of reach of the Internet.  Camping, etc.

    Follow-Up, the Windows 10 system that I am giving my Son, the one that PlayOn installed OK and registered Amazon Prime OK, will not download a video.  The video queues and then, slightly less than a minute, stops.  No Video generated.  Tried this with The Dawn, A Wife Alone and Indigo Hearts.  All have the same result.

    My internet connection is 100mps down and 10mps up.

    The three amazon prime movies play just fine through the Amazon Web Page.

    They also play just fine through my TV that has the Amazon Prime ability.

    So this appears to be a PlayOn problem and I will need help with this too, once I get PlayOn and Amazon Prime working on the new Windows 10 system.

    I don't know why this is so hard to fix. I have the same issue with my Amazon Account on one computer. The other logs in fine. Lately i have been having issues recording hulu as well. Records for a couple minutes and then craps out. haven't tried recording prime for awhile so i don't know if that records or not. When Playon works, it works great. But the recording feature seems very unstable and it's hit or miss on whether a show will record or not. Quite frustrating. I wonder if i purchased the product on Playon's downside turn.

    There's currently an issue impacting several channels -- not related to login, specifically.  Amazon, Hulu, CBS and HBO are all impacted. We're working on a fix and will have an update soon.

    No news yet.

    My original support ticket was marked as "Solved" but then I tried it again and it is still an issue, which is not surprising considering that no new versions or updates have yet been released.  So it is definitely not yet resolved.  I opened up a follow-up support ticket.

    I continue to wait and hope.

    I'm still seeing the issue that Cobnebbemawr posted. I've always received that error and have never been able to login to Amazon. Frustrating indeed.

    Just an update, but this issue was resolved for me months ago.  So new instances may be a different issue.

    Every once in awhile, an Amazon Prime video will not record properly.  But every time, I can start it using the standalone player first, then I can stop playing it and immediately start recording it instead.

    I saw that that the two factor hadn't worked for others so I didn't even try. Upon your suggestion, I gave it a shot and it worked.

    The only difference is that now it will pop up with a screen for you to enter the code that is texted to you.

    I understand the frustration, but you really are better off putting in a ticket with playon rather than complaining here. They are very good about helping with issues that pop up with their software. Amazon and the other vendors deliberately change their streaming services to mess up companies like playon, which is why things break more often than you want.

    You miss the point entirely Steve.

    Playon advertise that their service will record Amazon which it will not. As Playon are a paying service they have to make good their advertisements.

    This issue has been going on since 2014 and it has proven impossible for them to fix Amazon UK or Amazon DE for over 2 years now. I have found a solution that worked part time for me but it is not a permanent fix.

    Time for Playon to take Amazon off the list as they have done with many other sites. Soon they will be down to just Youtube.

    Hi Anthony -- Amazon is included in the channel list because we do support it and it does work.  When we added support for Amazon (one of the original channels) it was specifically for Amazon.com...not Amazon UK or Amazon DE.  We did end up adding support for Amazon UK and Amazon DE subsequent to that and it worked well for quite some time.  At that point Amazon was like Netflix in that you could use an Amazon UK or Amazon DE login with the same site and you would be presented with the the library for your region.  Amazon then made a series of extensive changes over a period of time and now each region has it's own site and, more importantly, login logic.  That means that each region would require its own dedicated channel with its own logic.

    To say we should remove Amazon from the list of channels doesn't really make sense since Amazon.com is still supported and works well...we just haven't been able to support other regions. 

    In PlayOn Cloud we are able to support Amazon.de and Amazon.UK logins in our channel because we control the environment and when you login in Cloud with a UK, DE or CA account it treats it as though you're traveling and presents the US Amazon Prime library.
