Show files as being viewed after being watched.

After watching a show, can they change color or be highlighted to indicate they have been viewed?  If you view several different series that are recorded, you may lose track of what episodes have been seen.

    I was going to post and saw this was already here. My comment below.

    Viewed and Unviewed icon or color code to see in a list what show you watched recently and what you have left. Storing that on the server, not the client would allow multiple devices to see the same status. The ability to change status with a swipe would be needed incase it was partial or watched to “test”. The WatchAid iOS app has a great interface similar to this.

    Agree, remembering where I was in Game of Thrones (get to watch an episode every few weeks) is a bit painful.  Hope this gets some attention...

    Not knowing which episodes I have already watched is my BIGGEST complaint about PlayOn. 

    In the File Explorer metadata there is a field named "Date accessed".  It is currently not used by PlayOn.  You could update this field whenever a program is accessed.  Then in the Roku client you could display this date and we would know that the program had been viewed.

    I know you know how to update metadata because the Comments field has a description of the program.

    Using "Date accessed" is just a suggestion, there are many fields in the metadata where could store an indicator that the program was viewed.  And maybe instead of just an indicator you could store the count of how many times it was viewed.

    It's not necessary that you use PlayOn as your only media server for recorded videos. I recommend you try out the Plex and Emby media servers since they have the additional features you're looking for. (You can use MCEBuddy to remove the ads marked by Adskipper.) I and many other people use Plex and PlayOn together.
